Small Scale Military Headquarters

Did you guys see that Dragon is expanding their line to finished 1/35 tanks? I looked at it at the Dragon website. It will sell for ca. $70.00. What is the Forum's thoughts on this. Is is going to be similar to FOV's and 21st Century? The much higher price tag makes me think that there should be an appreciable difference. . . more metal? Anyway, if anyone has seen one of these, let us know.

Woops! Just saw that Lightning2000 had already brought this up. Sorry. However, I would like to know why the price is so much higher than FOV? The FOV tanks are very nice!

Just put a Tamiya 1/35th or 1/48th scale next to a 21st or FOV replica - absolutely no comparison. If the Dragon 1/35th scale models are similar to the Tamiya products, there won't be any comparison.

You can get a 1/48th scale Tamiya for approximately 40.00 - 60.00 and you can put the model next to the Dragon CyberHobby Exclusives (which cost 34.50 and upwards) or the FOV/21st products and there is an appreciable difference.

I think its a waste. FOV and 21st are toys and all the hype about a copula that should be positioned 25 degrees the other way is over the top! The stuff had better be strong because at this rate 21st and FOV are going to finish these guys off!

I agree that is not likely in any grand sense but in certain areas it is has happened. Dragon had amazing 1:18 scale figures that were lacking in key areas of "playability" and are no more.
That said, I have a feeling the new Tiger will be quite nice - Dragon is surely in their element.

Add to that the fact, nobody else has an Afrika Korps Tiger!

What exactly do you guys do with your 1/32 stuff that you need them to be super-durable? Do you guys smash them together, throw them on walls, roll it on the ground while kneeling down and making sounds like, "Vroom, vroom!"? Smash them on the concrete while screaming, "Hulk Smash!"?

These new tanks looks great, shows details that you would never see in any die-cast model/toy, and some of you blast it.

I used to play mini wargames with 1/700 warships and I never broke any of them. Some of you fellas who have built these things know how fragile they are. You guys must be dropping tanks off balconies to want such durability.

The main reason Dragon isn't focusing on 1/18 lately is because they are making a KILLING on the 1/6 line. That's their bread and butter. Profits from those enables them to branch out into other markets, test the waters, as it were. Their main attention is on 1/6, any everything else is second-echelon.

I actually thought their 1/72 was in big demand, the detail is outstanding
and so is the paint job. The other plus is their smaller, I don't know
about you guys but I'm running out of room! I can collect alot more in
this scale then the bigger ones. Also their value goes up too.
I used to collect their 1/6 figures mostly the Cyber Hobby Special ETD.
But again no room. So I for one will pass on their new tiger

It looks very nice but the commander's hatch appears to open into the loader's. That doesn't seem right to me. Perhaps on this tank they are feuding?

Review the following link - a number of the pictures show the hatch opening in a similar manner as Dragon has displayed on the
1/35th scale offering. Let me know if I am missing something.
