in the Fall, Corgi is coming out with 3 MH-60L diecast helicopters, representing 3 machines from the Battle of Mogadishu. Super 61 (the first to be shot down), Super 64 (the second to be shot down) and Super 62 (the one that protected Super 64 for a while and landed 2 volunteer Delta snipers).

Interesting idea from Corgi and from the pics they look promising but i've learned to be leery of Corgi. At $70 each they're pretty pricey too.

the other 2 can be seen by searching for AA35908A and AA35908B

Yeah I really like these but at the price hard to bite on all three.

AFERGUSON:

I've got Super 64 on my Flying Mule wish list----I'm hoping it will be around long enough to be in a dump sale.

Yeah Super 64 is probably the one I would go for too.

AFERGUSON:

I want Super 64 because I'm originally from North Carolina where Delta Force is headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
After Super 64 crashed, Delta Force members Gordon and Shughart volunteered to protect Super 64's pilot, Durant from the Somali mob. Both Gordon and Shugart were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
Also, at the time I did something work-related on Super 64's crash. So the Corgi Super 64 would be for my North Carolina collection and nostalgia since it's work-related.

so has anyone picked up any of the Corgi Blackhawk down models and if so, is it worth the money?

I got the Sup Six One model last year and like it. You can see some good photos of the model on Flying Mule's website, but I've posted a few of my example below.

Compared to the 1:72 scale FOV Blackhawk, the Corgi version is better detailed and has about the same level of functionality. On my Super Six One Blackhawk pictured above, I put a couple FOV soldiers in the passenger compartment to fill in the space. It only came with pilot figures, no crew chief/gunners.
