Diorama materials - Cheap!

hey guys,

I was in Wal mart, which I call "the belly of the beast!" Anyway, they have some snow-covered trees, and barren trees, about 1'" to 6" tall that look pretty good. They are all ca. $2-$3 each. After Christmas I'm sure they will be next to nothing in price, so I'm going to pick up some after the holidays. You might want to check these out if you build dioramas. They have them where all the X-mas stuff is, lights, etc.

I picked up a few rolls of the brick and cobblestone surface from Walmart. The picket fencing looks pretty sharp too. The road stuff is a bit thick for my tastes, but you can't beat the price. What's caught my eye lately is the surface material (cobblestone, brick, etc) put out by The Miniature Building Authority. Granted, it is more expensive (about $14 for a 11x14 sheet), but it looks way too good not to want some. It'll be just the thing for the 1/72 dioramas I'm working up for my grilfriend. Oh, and if you happen to be into 1/72 scale, they have some fantastic buildings too. Image

They had some decent looking hedges in the Christmas section too. I'm also heading back after Christmas to see if I had score some deals.
