Was this Sherman ever announced, or maybe this is the start of some new repaints from Fov.

The posting on the motor pool site was somewhat confusing is this sherman supposed to have a 76mm gun? That is what their posting seems to indicate.

Historical note: Abrams went through a number of "Thunderbolts" during WW2. The one in question SHOULD be an M4, but the FoV M4A3 is as close as they can get. "Thunderbolt VI" was an M4A3 with 76mm gun and the most photographed is "Thunderbolt VII" which was an M4A3 76mm HVSS (M4A3E8). So yes, the scheme is about as accurate as FoV ever gets and will be rather eye catching in the display case. This would represent Abram's tank from Normandy and into the Lorraine campaign.

It will most definitely be the m4a3 75. I think the info below was just providing a brief history of the US m4 in wwII, so they mentioned the 76. Abrams is most famous for his m4 76 mount, thunderbolt VII, but he arrived in France with the standard m4a3 75 thunderbolt. A m4 76 would be most welcomed, especially over another sherman 75 repaint.
