Has Anyone Noticed This At Target

Hi Guys,

I really don't collect the 1/32 scale stuff, only some of the Matchbox airplanes, but I am noticing a very distrubing trend at the two Targets in my general area.

It seems that when the two stores get in new FOV or the Matchbox airplanes, they only seem to get three sets of each in. And then they never get anymore of them until the next wave of new stuff comes in. This is extremely frustrating, especially with the Matchbox airplanes that I like. The FOV seems to be a bit better, but this running around for a Matchbox airplane is getting a little insane.

Just wondering if anyone else saw this.

I have noticed that my local Targets aren't carrying the Matchbox aircraft anymore.. Or at least not for a while now, which is VERY disturbing to me in that Target is the only retailer left that was carrying these..

I have noticed that as well. Makes finding such planes as the F-100 very hard! I should have bought the origional one I saw when I had the chance, as those dissappeared quickly and never were restocked. Hopefully Target will change their policy. At least in the Targets in my area, it always seemed that many of the Matchbox planes (Corsairs & Spad VIIIs) sat on the shelves forever, while others sold quickly.

I found 2 F-100Ds, 2 F-104, and 3 Zeros at my target. Before they had over 15 different types of the WW1 aircraft and the corsair when they were doing those in that line.

Same here. I'm really impressed with this as it shows just how effective their stock control really is. Once somebody on the board mentions a new item at target, I can be rest assured it's there! If you have competition in the area, you are in trouble, though.........

My Target stores quite carrying MB planes altogether. Initial SPAD and RB Dr.I were the last to hit here. :(

San Antonio seems to have a good supply in the first few months, but the supply dwindles pretty quick after that. The planes are fairly popular here
and are a good value. They are bought quickly in most cases.

Lately, all thats been on the shelves here in Austin have been the re- released Sherman Tanks. I found 1 set of planes a month ago of the Nasa F 104, and Dick Rutan Camo F-100. Apparently the only ones in town. I think the planes have sold well enough I can't imagine they are no longer going to stock them. We'll see, has anybody heard anything. It would be great if they would offer them on Target.com.

Has anyone noticed how the Matchbox Shermans are selling in their areas? They seem to be sitting around me, which is surprising due to how awesome their quality is, and the lack of any other allied stuff to face off the Dragon armor.

I already bought my share of Shermans, but it would seem Matchbox over produced these thinking there might be a bigger demand, but it didn't happen..

That's too bad. I was hoping these would be bigger sellers to encourage Target & Matchbox to follow with more vehicles.
How well do you think a wave consisting of a Pz. IV F.1 in DAK paint, Wirbelwind, Panther D tricolor, and Pz IV G would sell? Pretty darn well, I'd think. But maybe only if they glued wings to the sides.

Well, you have to consider also that when Matchbox put out the Panther, Pz IV and others, they didn't stay on the shelves very long.. The Shermans sat then and they are sitting now.. Poor marketing on Matchbox's end, I would guess.. :?
