FOV - different versions?

Hey All,

First time in the 1-32nd forum but 1:18 is leaving me high and dry on any new Armor so I'm starting to branch out into 1/32nd. Have a question though, I noticed the 1/32 FOV at the local Targets seem to have too much paint or "toyish" looking. Is there a difference from these and the $35.00 versions that are for sale on-line? I havent seen any of these in person before.

Thanks,

Andy

The ones found at Target are from the Action Series. They are not weathered and come with few accessories.

LOL Aferg! I'm not giving up on 1:18 scale but I've got money burnin' a hole in my pocket for anything new, but there just isn't anything out there. Almost bought both repaints of the RC Panzer but decided on only one in hopes that we'll eventually have one (RC or not) with skirts.
Hopefully an Avenger soon.

Welcome to the fold of the corrupted. Select 1:32 pieces have come to grace my shelves, despite my primary interest in 1:18. FOV armor's not bad!

I was wondering, recently I have seen several FOV armor pieces at Target that I had not seen before. Actually they were packaged differently and painted more like the enthusiast versions. They had more accessories and the best part is they were discounted from 19.99 to 13.98. The box still says Action Series but you get alot more bang for the buck. Anyone know about these?

Are you talking about the boxed vehicles versus the blister packed ones? I've seen FOV Abrams and M60s at Target for instance. I've also seen one of the Stugs there as well. These vehicles were all boxed, and to my knowledge were not part of the action series. Image

The models I saw specifically were the Humvee with sand paint but has mud on tires and wire antennae, with extra accessories, also a Sherman with white glazing and more accessories than I had seen in other action series plus the treads are weathered. It also comes with more than previous versions. I will post a couple pics when I can. Yesterday I found the British tank and it too was painted more weathered and had some tank barrier accessories. I have not seen these before and am thinking they may be the enthusiast versions that snuck into the Target line. They also are on the platforms that have the raised metal looking letters for the description and not the flat cardboard one that the action ones have had.

CW4 (if you're not deployed somewhere else), if you're familiar with R/C Hobbies on Meridian St. in Huntsville they have a large collection of the "enthusiast" series (and a spanking new big building). They are high in price, but you can see a majority of FOV vehicles there for ordering purposes if nothing else. The University TRS and both Targets have some too, but all in Action Grade (but much better prices).

Thanks CorpBob! Nope, not deployed anymore, finally over for me... (retiring from the Army in a few months :D )
Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out ASAP!

Thanks again,

Andy

Just received my first FOV enthusiasts edition armor piece and I now know why you guys like the 1/32nd scale! :D This thing is beautiful, very detailed with many accessories. This one is the Russian T-34/85 Eastern Front. Looks like I just got hooked on another scale!

Glad you like the T-34. Its one of FOV's best vehicles, IMHO. Its one of the few FOV vehicles where all the hatches open and that even has an engine. Welcome to the new scale and get ready to get hooked. There's tons of new and unique armor pieces in this scale and a growing number of aircraft.
