1/32 BBI Corsair worth to get ?

Post by cnq » Mon Jun 23, 2014 8:34 am

I would like to add this one to my collection and would like to have some feed backs from you guys. How does it compare to the Dauntless also from BBI and 21st Corsair (if they ever made one) ? Thanks for any comments.

CNQ:

BBI"s 1/32 WW II planes were the SBD Dauntless and the F4F Wildcat. BBI had several 1/18 Corsairs, but no 1/32 Corsair.
21st Century's 1/32 Corsair is supposed to be pretty good---if you can find one a decent price.

I have the whole set of them and I like them but the landing gear doors are horrible they can break easily.

The 21c 32x Corsair is one of the better offerings in that line. It is more detailed than 21c's 1:18 version of the aircraft having a correctly-detailed cockpit, rockets for the wings, bombs, and drop tanks. Quite frankly, its really more of minnature version of the 1:18 BBI Corsair tooling than a smaller version of 21c's 1:18 Corsair.

I agree with USCGMK2 about the fragile parts of the model. The wings also have a visible gap, but one really could not avoid that... Otherwise, its a good addition to get for one's collection 8)

The BBI I/32 offerings are nice. My only issue with the BBI is the wings don't 'fold' for 'storage'. The 21st Century Corsairs did have the 'foldable' wing.

I'll trade a Tamiya 1/32 Birdcage Corsair kit for my 21C Corsair in British markings.
