does the HM Block Island Avenger come with depth bombs or just the regular bombs that it comes with in the other releases? Depth bombs will be barrel shaped with a flat nose and a tail like a regular bomb (they were basically depth charges with a tail added).
thanks for any help

AFERGUSON:
1. From Flying Mule's description of the HA1209 Block Island Avenger:
"The bomb bay doors can be opened, and the model can be fitted with either four 500 lb bombs or a torpedo. "
2. From Hobbymaster Collector's review of the Block Island Avenger:
" ...a 2-piece door for the open position. This allows for the addition of a torpedo or 4 bombs that are provided."

right but it doesn't say what kind of bombs. Most of the HM Avengers come with normal 500 pound bombs. Because the Block Island Avenger was used to hunt u-boats it should come with depth bombs instead of the normal 500 pound bombs. I was wondering if HM put the correct type of bombs in with this particular aircraft or they just stuck the same ole bombs in they use on every release.

I don't have this particular model, AF, but knowing HM's penchant for cost saving shortcuts, I would be very surprised if it went to the added expense of providing depth charges for the Block Island Avenger. Remember HM's "Midway TBF" was put out as a TBM with rockets----- but painted like a Midway TBF.

thanks for the pic, that answers the question and the answer is 'no'. At least the bombs are loose....they would be fairly easy to modify into reasonable looking depth bombs (i already have done this in 1/18). They should look decent mounted up in the bomb bay at any rate.
