I just googled their helmets. I forgot they used similar helmets to the Germans. I think I 'm going to have to pick up the Chinese and Japanese. You're right, a little pricey. Similar in price to the Russian releases..

I have painted 'plastics.' I just finished painting the AIP Taliban (6 of the 18). In the past I have painted Airfix, Conte, Tamiya, Italieri, TSSD, etc. Presently I have so many 'future' projects I hesitate to purchase any new sets. I still have not painted the recent German medics and the German cannon crews that I purchased well over a year ago.
I started painting plastics because I enjoy the painting but also because I can increase the size of my armies without it costing an arm and a leg. (I have virtually all of the WWII Britains and NWTS metals in addition to the Conte and Frontline metal.) The plastic allows me to have more variety and multiples of the same figure without having to pay $20-$45 a figure.

I had completely forgotten That Nationalist Chinese troops had the 'German' style of helmet. It's interesting to note that when Figarti initially introduced their metal soldier line none of their Chinese troops had these helmets.

21st CENT TOYS did them wearing BRIT helmets and now this German helmet thing.
I know all 3 are correct but in the end I would have gone with the hats.
Looks more distinctively Chinese.
