1/4105 Moebius Battlestar Galactica (Pre-Built) Review

Post by cjg476 » Tue Jan 14, 2014 4:18 pm

I purchased this pre-built kit off ebay for $45 shipped. I really like it, it's bigger than I expected. The only issue I I've seen looking at it through the box is the color seems a little light. Besides that i really am impressed and am glad I purchased it.

Here are some pics:

This is the outer box. It has an outside sleeve over the boxed model for protection.

A view of "The Bucket" out of the sleeve but still in its package.

Fuzzy close-up view of the paint job (sorry this pic turned out bad).
Image

Starboard Landing Bay which was turned in to a museum before the attack. Note the glass triangle windows. I thought that was a neat feature.

Top View. The azteking looks pretty good.

Starboard Landing Bay. I tried to capture the detail of the lettering on the inside.

Comparison next to a pen.

Overall I think it is a good piece and am glad I purchased it. It is much larger than I anticipated. It also comes with a stand. I contacted Moebius models and in an email they told me if this sells good they will be making a pre-built Pegasus. Which I would love to have. I may buy the kit and build it myself. If you enjoyed the pics and want to see more I have no problem doing an unboxing review upon request. Anyways thanks for your time.

Corey.

That's a great deal!
I've been on the fence, but after seeing those pics, I might have to pick one up.

I'm hoping Moebius comes out with the Battlestar Valkyrie as well.

Rad you took the words right out of my mouth. I want the Valkyrie so bad. I've been emailing builders here and there trying to find someone who will do me a custom with lights. I really want that ship a lot.

Do the landing bays move in and out?

I don't think so Harry, but I will let you know once I open it. As far as I know the only Galactica's that came with opening bays are the titanium series and the Konami/art asylum pieces which both fetch a hefty sum.

Everything is sturdy and in place. A very good buy if you are a fan of BSG. The stand tube is metal and there is BSG 75 Battlestar Galactica wording and emblem on the base. I recommend this piece to anyone who doesnt have time to do the kit.
