Warmaster is repainting the Ixo He-219 and like most of Warmaster's aircraft repaints, it's not pretty.

Here's the prototype pic, which usually looks alot better than the end product, you'd better squint:

Aside from being the wrong colours and way too dark they put the red warning paint apps on the TOP of the radar aerials as well as the bottom. Whoever does this stuff at Warmaster clearly knows diddly about aircraft.

I don't have and can't get an IXO He-219 so I'm all over this. Hopefully a little better than the original maybe?

the original Ixo is not worth the current prices. Its paint scheme isn't very good, with hard edged dark grey spots instead of soft edged light grey ones and the inked panel lines look especially noticable on the light colour. I will get the Warmaster too, but i will probably be repainting it, unless it turns out to be a very pleasant surprise.

I wonder if that's the actual colors of brown over beige?

It almost looks like the picture has been been saturated with sepia tone, so it could be more grey in production.

Have the original IXO He 219, and isn't bad. For the $30 I paid for it.

And it doesn't have the swastika either.

Not sure about the camo colours on this latest Warmaster Uhu though. Not something I am used to, and certainly not a "common" pattern.

Not sure what the IXO go for these days, but looks like the Warmaster is about $30, which is decent price at this time.

i agree that the price isn't bad, which is why i'll get it and repaint it. A kit would cost about the same and have to be built as well as painted, so what the heck.

But it takes just as much effort to do an accurate scheme as an inaccurate one, so why can't Warmaster get it right? They've even got staffel markings up by the nose???? It's like they're just making it up as they go. All you have to do is look at one decent built up model picture on the internet and then...make like picture.

welll it's here:

looks pretty much as bad as the pre pro pics. Too dark, wrong colours and misplaced markings. However the biggest problem that i just noticed is the canopy is the wrong shape. It's got the prototype's canopy which was squared off and boxy at the rear........production machines had a longer more sloped canopy rear. Big difference in appearance.

So, i guess i'll have to build a model kit. Sigh.

For the price I guess I can overlook some inaccuracies.
Just don't have time to build a right one. :?
