Blue Box Toys 1:32 Soldiers??

I was cleaning out some boxes of stuff in my room today and came across an unopened package of approximately 1:32 scale German soldiers that my parents got me years ago, I think from Big Lots. The Package was entitled "Elite Command - Collectors Series Diecast Soldiers" This particular package features Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and three German soldiers. The painting is decent and they are rather heavy.

I never really though much of them, until I turned the package over today and noticed who made them - Blue Box Toys! There was an address which I compared with one on a BBI 1:18 aircraft box and they matched, so it is the same company.

So, my question is, what the heck is this? Did BBI at one time make 1:32 soldiers? Any info from some of the more learned 1:32 collectors would be appreciated!

Yeah, bbi made a short run of them back about 1999 or so. I used to see them quite often. Bbi also created other lines like Civil War Soldiers as well. I wasn't really excited about them, really. I'm sure they will become collectible like many other lines....

Thanks for the clarification! I was kind of surprised to see that a company I usually associate with making 1:18 WWII and modern planes tanks and soldiers once made 1:32 WWII figures. (You might be able to tell how long I'd had them stashed away :) ) They look decent, but not as well detailed as the 21c, FOV, and other more professional 1:32 soldiers out there.

they still make 1/32 soldier lines i believe. I stumbled across some BBI 1/32 Romans on Michigan Toy Soldier the other day. They didn't look all that good, to be honest. Nowhere near as nice as the 1/18 Romans they debuted at the Fall Toy Fair.

They also made a Patton set with three U.S. soldiers. I found them at KB in the late 90's and was tempted, but the quality didn't impress me so I passed (to buy some Solido stuff, go figure).
