A C-119 Arrives

Yet another small scale "unusual subject"---a 1:200th scale C-119 operated by the Italian Air Force-----has arrived via the GE Fabbri series. If it weren't for the annoying nicks and scrapes that marred portions of the model, I would say that it's a very worthwhile addition for any "unusual subject"- oriented collector, like myself. The wingspan is about 6.5 inches, which makes for a decent sized replica. I've fixed some of the nicks and filled in two screw holes. Here are pictures. First, a topside view:Image

That's not too shabby for a GE Fabbri 1:200 Epap. 8)

I'd been watching one to bid on but forgot about it.

Are you going to repaint, Air America or something USAF?

I was thinking about a redo in USAF or Marine Corps markings but am having difficulty finding any unit-specific decals that would work in this scale.

Love the "Flying Boxcar", and I always think of the classic Jimmy Stewart movie, "Flight of the Phoenix", whenever I see one.

Would be great to see a good quality diecast done of this aircraft.

Nice piece. I always think of Flight of the Phoenix too.
