A Japanese "Storch" Arrives

The Japanese Kokusai Ki-76 was a successful attempt to emmulate Germany's Storch, though it featured a radial engine and a different flap configuration. The Japanese Army used these planes from 1942 on as artillery spotters and even in anti-sub duties operating from convoy escort carriers it employed independently of the Japanese Navy. The Ki-76 is the latest release in the ongoing Hachette Japanese series and this 1:100th scale replica is a little gem. Hers is a topside picture:Image

I subscribe to the entire series via a Japanese bookstore in San Francisco, thereby earning a nice discount. My cost per model, including shipping , is about $42. They can be found on the Japanese version of eBay but almost never show up in the U.S. listings.
