The FoV Sherman "Firefly" was due out in Nov. Has anyone seen or acquired one yet? I am interested less in the British version than the revised hull and parts on the old FoV Sherman, so I want to see some photos of the hull and turret. Thanks for any updates.

Anybody have a clear view of the rear engine deck/rear hull arrangement?
Thanks.

Absolutely zero weathering. At least FOV's advertising photos had weathering... I really like the newer FOV releases but the price and the lack of weathering frosts me....

This firefly should look good with the other UK sherman.

The reason I want a rear view is to see if Unimax changed their tank from the previous M4A3 to an M4 (British = Sherman 1) or an M4A4 (British = Sherman V). The boxed view is hard to tell which way they went. The Sherman V would be great for British modelers as you can do several things besides "Fireflies" with it. Persionally I am hoping for an M4 as it offers more opportunities for the modeler of US subjects. 21C did the M4, but they did it very badly.

I've asked several ebay sellers to take pics of the engine deck so I could share them here, but so far no luck.

Check flyingmule.com; they have pics. the tank has the correct M4a4 chassis/engine deck.

Quite right - it's clearly an M4A4 (British = Sherman V), so it's great for the British modeler - not only the "Firefly" with 17-pounder but it can be kitbashed back to a 75mm version. Bad news for the collector of US Army as the M4A4 didn't go overseas with any US units. Their were a few issued in the ETO, obtained from British stocks after the heavy tank losses in the Battle of the Bulge, but otherwise the M4A4 was used by the British, the French and by China.
