With an anticipated December 2005 release date, the CafeReo JWings Military Aircraft Series Volume 1 is a collection of plastic, ready-made, 1:144 scale models with ties to a Japanese military aircraft magazine of the same name. Intended to be sold like trading cards in Japanese convenience stores, these relatively inexpensive Candy Toys are packaged in sealed unit boxes without windows, blister-packing, or acrylic display cases, so the collector is "blinded" as to the contents of the containers until they are actually opened. Thus, the buyer assumes some measure of risk when purchasing these Trading Miniatures, especially when obtaining sealed unit boxes, either on an individual basis or in bulk via a display case box, in that there is NO guarantee that you will be able to get a specific model, just like when you get a foil pack of trading cards.


The JWings set ships in a 10-piece display case box, most likely in a 2 (across) x 5 (deep) -matrix. The collection itself comprises 11 aircraft, 10 regular releases and one (1) rare, limited edition Chase Piece. There are two (2) strategies for including a chase piece in a candy toy set:

1) The display case box assortment is totally randomized, meaning you could possibly get duplicate models in the same case, as well as the chase piece; or

2) The chase piece swaps places with one (1) of the regular release models in the display case box assortment. Technically, the regular release that the chase piece swaps places with would also be a rarer item, as its relative proportion to the other regular releases would be lower in the overall distribution scheme.
