I just received this playset, thanks to "digger". It is "Bad to the Bone" too. Comes with a simulated concrete bunker,Pak-40, and the unique and really cool IG gun w/3 crewmen to man it I've never seen before. It don't look a 75mm at all, more like a 37mm close infantry support gun Fallschirmjagers would use. This is 21st.Century's "best small playset" imo....I just could not find this set in my AO at all. When and if this finally does come thru here, I am definitely getting another 1,2, or 3 more......

I agree.. It was here and now it's gone while the other playsets gather dust.. I think it was the ONE to get...

Would you happen to have any pictures or links. I have only seen two of the playsets and I'm always hearing about this one but never saw it.

"MAN" I wish I could but I don't have this capability yet. 21st., had some pic's on this particular gun a long time ago before they completely changed their website.

I have the set and could post a picture of the gun and figures tomorrow.
They are nice accessories and the figures have good detailing and some ammo boxes and loose rounds were even included! I actually held off on the set for a month or two - yes, one sat around the store in my AO that long - before breaking down and buying it. The turnoff for me was the bunkers, but I wanted the gun and crew! The bunkers look great, but are one too many. Besides, I already had the bunker from the origional Costal Defense set that was sold at the small online retailers.
It would be cool if 21c would release some sort of small 32x set with the IG and crew on a little "diorama" base with simulated terrain like what was displayed at some toy fair a while back. That way we could get what we really want w/o all the extra baggage!

the smaller gun is the IG 18 75mm infantry gun. A very neat little weapon used throughout the war in large numbers. Early war versions had spoked wheels (like small wagon wheels) and later versions had pneumatic tires, as in the 21c piece. A paratrooper version used the spoked wheels and removed the shield, for maximum lightness.
If anyone is interested in getting a 1/18 scale version there was one made by Hausser in the 30's which is perfect for 1/18. They ususally go for a fair bit, however. Here's a link to a current auction for one:

It seems overpriced to me. $100 is more like it i think.
Anyway, I bought one a couple of years ago that was banged up, missing wheels etc. I got it cheap ($40) and fixed it up. Straightened it out, put on some spoked wheels i found and added a crew of Dragon figures. Looks good.

Thanks for the Tech,.info. on this and the links "aferguson". "MAN" did I get a deal on this playset here. I would'nt bid nor pay that much for those either, but that "Hausser" sure does look good...I am a lucky dude.

I've spotted these playsets and they seem to just sit on the shelves where I am.
