BMC vs. CTS

Hi All:

For any of you fans of 1/32 scale plastic toy soldiers, I was just wondering if you've had any experience in comparing BMC with Classic Toy Soldier (CTS) vehicles?

Both companies produce a number of US and German tanks and I realize neither have the detail of FoV or Ultimate Soldier, but how do the two producers compare to one another (e.g. size, quality of plastic, details)?

Any information is most appreciated.

The BMC I believe are based on King and Country, 1/30, for the Sherman and the Marine landing craft from the Iwo Jima set. The Higgins boat from the D-Day set is smaller and probably closer to 1/32. The King Tiger is also closer to 1/32. CTS vehicles, tanks, are closer to 1/35. The CTS British truck and Daimler armored car are closer to 1/32.
The BMC are very basic but nice for painted background pieces. CTS has a little more detail. The CTS will look small compared to the BMC overall. For the price however, the BMC are a good deal. They're usually around $8-$10. CTS are more than $20 now.

The BMC Play-sets are only good for odds and ends. Like the US landing crafts and the Germ. AA guns.
Their Pacific playset had great figures, but slightly over sized. The US Tracked landing craft is much needed, but again over-sized.

To be continued.......with lots to say BAD & GOOD about CTS.

Sorry for the lazy opinions: "PLASTIC GENERAL"
