I think 21stC should do a german flak crew in the next 32x soldier set they put out. For the 88 and the flak panzer. What do you guys think?

I totally agree, but I don't think they ever will. They've got too many other projects to worry about right now, besides they figure one loader is enough.

I've got plenty of those in "old" Airfix, MPC, and what came w/ the Jagd, but it would be neat to see 21st., put out more of them.

A good set a flak guys is the Tamiya artillery crew set. Sure it is a kit, but they are easy to put together and paint. I picked a set up off ebay for 99 cents. The 88mm gun should have a crew of 8 in ideal conditions. I used a Tamiya 20mm flak set for the flak panzers too. They are 1/35 but close enough. Actually, the guys supplied with the 21st 88mm are basic copies of figures that come with the Tamiya guns. The fellow with the rangefinder is from the 88 kit while the loader is from their 75mm AT gun.

It looks as though FOV will be releasing an 88mm gun with 5 crew in 2006, but I understand the need for a seperate crew. See the other thread on the 1:32 forum. I did sort of custom build my own gun crew using some 32x Germans along with the two sent with the 32x gun:

Nice photo tman. I thought about using the tamiya figures. Ive done them before with the tamiya 88. But now with work, school and a soon to be 3 year old daughter Im short on time. So i need prepainted instant gratification. Or i might be able to track down some king and country figures, but that would be expensive.

Hi Tmanthegreat,
Very nice photo and setup. Quick question. -- Wouldnt the guy holding the rangefinder be holding it up higher if the target was an aircraft?

I don't know yet Meskary, I should be receiving it within the next 6-days. It's definitely unique and is 21st.,best set IMO. I use the Tamiya sets too, like the German Artillery Troops, set. Comes with a variety of nice decals too, for the helmets and unit patches and chevrons.

Yeah, he most certainly would! However, even with hot water, its kind of hard to get that figure into such a position!

Oh yeah....I use Tamiya's Tiger I's brass 88mm projectiles w/ my 1/35 guys. These include spent casings as well....Note: Generally the casings were made from steel due to a brass shortage....So I just painted some of these a dull steel color.
