Post by AMERICAN_GRENADIER » Tue Jul 10, 2012 5:54 am

it getting harder to keep prices down since FOV keeps increasing prices with every batch of new releases. that said many of the new pieces and repaints are very nice.

Do you know of any vendors that have the Jeep? I am not interested in EBAY. I do want to buy the Dodge ambulance, the Jeep and the KFz 70 personnel carrier. Most of the sites I visit regularly have them listed as 'Future Releases'.

Again, the new jagdpanther looks like shit. I'm glad I have one of the earlier releases.

Also, I'm in Hong Kong right now, and large department stores like SOGO already have them on the shelves. I love the in store walk in more than web stores. :D

It is nice being able to walk in a store and see stuff up close and handpick the one you want, but unfortunately hobby shops have died off in a lot of places. The closest to me is almost 50 miles (a HobbyTown) and their selection is pretty sparse.

Thanks for the information - really nice items. The jeep and KFZ. 70 are the top picks for me.

I received my Jeep and personnel carrier. With respect to the personnel carrier, absolutely no weathering and virtually all plastic. It is a nice piece but I question it's 1/32. I'd say 1/35. The figures are nice. (I wish FOV would just sell these figures separately. You can always use sitting figures.) With respect to the Jeep, once again no weathering. Both vehicles appear to be right out of the factory and what you would see in a parade, pristeen. Even the soldiers are squeaky clean. All of the above having been said, I like them but they really aren't worth the money. If Fov were smart, they'd release the personnel carrier in DAK camo and have another version with a cover for the driver as well as for the soldiers' area.
Take a look at the picture of the new Jeep in FOV's 2012 product offering. It's weathered. These pieces look like Adventure grade. I wish they'd sell them at Target and TRU for half the price!

Thanks for the info Ketelone. I was seriously thinking about ordering the personnel carrier (PC). That's disappointing about the mostly plastic build and scale. I was excited about the diecast construction. I love the Ultimate Soldier 1 32 Grey Opel Blitz/Cargo Truck as it has a front end that seems to be diecast as well as the chasis (I think based on the weight). I love the metal stuff and the truck is actually one of my personal favorites of my own collection. The scale bothers me too if the PC is small.

The price is high for both items, esp. the jeep. Even at lower than suggested retail, both are rather high, esp. if smaller than 1:32. I''ll look again at both items closely. If you share any pictures, it would be most appreciated.

EDIT: oh, and the thought of a DAK camo paint scheme sounds awesome.
