FOV Pershing discontinued?

Post by Law » Wed Oct 19, 2005 3:31 pm

Does anyone know if/why the Pershing was discontinued for the Forces of Valor line?

I picked one up at Amazon, of all places, and it looks like they're out now, too.

It's really a great item, much nicer than I expected it to be. I think it's one of their better tanks, and certainly more impressive (to me, at least) than their Sherman.

Was it really discontinued? Anyone know why? Have they even discontinued any other pieces?

M26 Pershing

Hello,
Yes the M26 Pershing was discontinued, which means its going to be harder to find in the marketplace. Just a guess, but FOV will likely offer it again in a different scheme, perhaps in a winter camouflage pattern. They're going to be announcing their 2006 lineup tomorrow so we'll know for sure.

The Grant tank is going to be equally hard to find for the holidays since they're not expecting more until the new year at the earliest. Not sure why they arent restocking it. Perhaps they're looking to carry over less inventory for the fourth quarter.

M26 Pershing

Hi Law,
Well, it turns out the M26 isnt discontinued after all. It was a matter of semantics on Unimax part when they said it was sold out. They expect more to arrive in January. "Temporarily out of stock" might have been a better choice of words but the long and the short of it is the Pershing will be back in stock in early 2006.

That's great to hear! I have mine already, but I'm glad that it isn't going away for the sake of future collectors. It is extremely well done...
