This t-34/85 is a great model from FOV; one of the best.
I've never seen this pic; thanks for posting it.

Heer,

What makes this the most famous T-34?

Or is it simply the most expensive FoV T-34.

That was the S1 FOV T-34 (the first in the scale) and it was given a standard late-war Soviet paint scheme that wasn't winterized or anything. (The Cyrillic lettering reads "Suvarov," I think indicating the tank belonged to the Suvarov Division, which was named after a famous Russian commander in the 1700s). The model has professional weathering from back in the time when FOV really took the time to make their models look professional.

I agree with the above consensus that is one of the best FOV tanks. its a personal favorite of mine and has been since I got it in 2004.

Great to see a photo of the actual tank. Gives me some ideas of how to properly do the stowage on mine. Unimax even got the spoked bogie wheels correct, which was something the model recieved flak from collectors on as it wasn't typical for later T-34/85 tanks. The tank (at least at the time the photo was taken) doesn't appear to have all the fuel drums, but I'm OK with them on the model.
