I have always loved the Dog Sabre and this one looks to be a beauty but what's the scoop on Falcon Models? Are they a good maker, is the price about right? They also don't say if it has optional pieces like retracted gear or open canopy.

What I have read is it is a pretty decent model. Biggest complaint was the rocket pack was not removable. A good review on the Diecast Hangar Pub forum http://tdhp.49.forumer.com/viewtopic.ph ... 92#p141823

Thanks man! I'm just dipping my feet into the 1:72 pool again. I had quite a few aircraft a couple years ago but I had to sell them off. I really only have experience with Easy Model and Corgi. Not sure about that rocket pack on the F-86D though.

Falcon Models are a new comer, but do some models not done by any other manufacturer.

F-86D Sabre dog, Feisler Storch, and T-33 off the top of my head.

Not bad quality, but certainly not premium either. The only game in town for a Sabre dog, so why not give them a try, Rowsdower. :D

Falcon Models are pretty good - not Hobby Master good, but really not bad. I tend to have the most problems with the landing gear pieces. As was said above, they do some unique subjects in 1:72 scale, with my favorites being the T-33 and F9F Panther. I have the F-86D as well. You cannot remove the rocket pack or drop tanks, but the canopy opens (swinging upwards as opposed to sliding as on the earlier F-86s). No figure, but you can get those carded 1:72 scale Hobby Master pilots and they fit right in. I want to say off the top of my head that they are priced in the $40-$50 range, which is about typical for regular 1:72 diecast these days.

I only have one T33 from them and its still in the box so can only repeat the opinions of others but I say go it Rowsdower unless you are waiting for a particular preferred scheme.

Yes, I saw the Panther as well. Also the beautiful Hobby Master F-101B Voodoo. I love these 50's-60's era jets. Worst part is I passed by the 1:72 Super Sabre and Thunderchief way too many times at a local store and today found out that he has gotten rid of all of his scale diecast to make room for more scale railroad stuff.
