Equipment/painting guides online?

I just recently decided to paint up my Conte figs, after leaving them unpainted for years. I had once tried back before I had much painting experience, and the results were pretty poor, though good enough to make the figs look a little better.
Now, though, I've become slightly better and I've improved on basic techniques (inkwashing, drybrushing, highlighting, blending) and I've also realized the importance of priming this stuff first....
So after taking a leap, I'm pretty happy with the results. I may be able to post pics in a little bit, I'll see if I can.
In any case, one thing that I ran up against was not quite knowing how to paint some of the equipment. Different pics/models seem to show different colors, and as most historical books have B&W pics, they don't help me. Does anyone know of a website that shows color pics of the uniforms and equipment of WWII troops, specifically German forces?
thanks in advance,
Law
