Here's how it goes. 85029 original paint scheme has been replaced with the new 2 tone brown and the belly is half white and half black the full length of the fuselage.
This was the last Hurricane to be produced and the original had "the last of many" painted under the cockpit on both sides when they rolled it out of the factory. The original didn't come with sand filters so FOV is correct with this version of Hurricane, Mk. IIC and the paint scheme. This plane never actually saw combat because Hawker quickly bought it back since it was the last Hurricane made. In my opinion this makes the model quite unique.
I'm just guessing but by FOV using the same box for the new version of 85029 they are keeping cost down. The model number on the box is correct but the depiction of the model is the old paint scheme. I assume, if they had to come up with all new packaging that it wouldn't even be worth them marketing it.
I like the paint scheme and know I will be getting one when they are available. I hope this helps explain everything, if not I'm sure you'll let me know. I would upload a picture from my computer if I could find how to do that. All I can see is add a picture using an url, not a file from personal computers. Here's a link to an UK shop. http://www.aircraftmodels.co.uk/1448_1_1952340.html

I would say that if they are out in Europe they should be showing up on this side of the Atlantic very soon. If and when I can get any information on a time, I'll post it.DocTodd wrote:FOV any idea when this one will become available?
Thanks,

I've seen a few of the 85029 at some local targets. so...are they being recalled, only a few produced, being produced in addition to these? just curious. and i'm 95% sure, because they had the night fighter hurricane and a green camo, and i know that there was no yellow on the front of the wings like 85329 and 85429.

I'm only taking a guess at this, but I think the change will show up on the Enthusiast series. This series is usually on the market after the Action series so they may have had time to do a new paint scheme before they left the factory.Waltz41 wrote:I've seen a few of the 85029 at some local targets. so...are they being recalled, only a few produced, being produced in addition to these? just curious. and i'm 95% sure, because they had the night fighter hurricane and a green camo, and i know that there was no yellow on the front of the wings like 85329 and 85429.
