I just received an excellent replica of a Japanese Type 95 tank by Figarti ( in 1:30th scale ), via Hobby Bunker, and thought I share a few pictures. Here's a side view:Image

This brings my humble collection of WW2 Japanese Tanks to six, including a 1:30th scale rendition of the Type 97 by K&C, a 1:35th scale model of the same tank made from a kit, a 1:50th scale Type 95 from Gaso.Line and two tiny tots from HM. Here's the whole herd in a group picture:Image

Are the 1/30th tanks K&C or Figarti?

The Type 95 is a Figarti and the Type 97 in the center top of the picture is a K&C model. The other large Type 97 is a kit-make.

I took a look at Hobbybunker. You must have purchased the last one...

Just one caution about the Figarti type 95. Almost all of these tanks carried a 37mm main gun armament but this model is sporting what seems to be a bigger 57mm canon that was fitted to a small number of machines in 1943. Of course, you can always saw off the end of the canon if you wish and convert it to a 37mm piece. Which is what I've just done. Here's how the model looks now:Image

Wow, this looks bloody good, thanks for sharing.

Out of pure interest, roughly how much are they these days?

Cheers

The Type 95, which is "retired", cost me $199 plus $6 for shipping and was well worth it. ST.
