Introduction: The King Tiger was the last major heavy tank that reached production. It saw service on both the western and eastern front. Many of the lessons learned on the T-34 was used in the design of the King Tiger.

The Model: The vehicle is very well done. There are a total of 4 opening hatches withan opening engine hatch as well. The vehicle is an overall brown vehicle with dark brown stripes. Zimmeret is also seen, however, FOV did an excellent job at rendering the slow degrading of the zimmeret by expertely discontinuing the zimmeret in the front of the tank. The barrel elevates and depresses and the turret turns 360 degrees around. The tracks roll freely.

Equipment: This vehicle comes with a sledge hammer, shovel, axe, a pack of covered equipment, and 6 towing rings for application onto the tank. One wooden obstacle, wall section, and wooden barrel is also supplied. 2 boxes of ammo and 2 panzerfausts were also provided.

Crew: This model comes with 2 tank riders and 2 crew members. One of the tank riders are holding an MG34 while the other is holding a rifle. The 2 crew members are INCORRECTELY painted green. Instead they should be painted black, since the king tiger was considered a tank, not an assualt gun.

History: The box says "Germany 1944", so I am thinking that this tank might have been sent back to Germany for repairs or refit. Some sources suggested that it was part of the 3./sHPzAbt 501 training in Ohrdruf. I ried to find real photos but couldn't.

Conclusion: This tank was nice, and I was impressed. I am glad that I had many of the forum members help me decide which king tiger to get. I purchased this tank for USD $50, and I am glad that I did. Overall, very nice piece!! :D :D :D :D :D
