1/32 F-14 Tomcat Model

Post by DocTodd » Sun Aug 28, 2005 7:57 pm

I saw a 1/32 scale F-14 Kit at Hobby Lobby this weekend. It was $39.99. There was one box that was not sealed so I opened it to see how large it was. Quite a bit larger than our good old WWII planes but still manageable. It had rubber tires w/ the rest plastic. This kit is by Revell-I almost bought it to try it but then decided to wait and see if we see any 1/32 modern jets produced by 21st Century or perhaps someone else. If not it may be worth getting one but you would want to have decent modeling skills to make it look good.

That kits a decent kit, but requires mucho patience and lots and lots of filler/putty, but with some time and attention to detail can be turned into a nice rendition of the tomkitty. The only other offering is the Tamiya F-14, and it to requires quite a bit of patience, and just as much putty, but is 3-4X the price. If you end up getting the kit, lmk if you need any assistance, I've built 5-6 of the Revell offering and 3 of the Tamiya version, so it's safe to say I've invested quite a bit of blood/sweat/tears..lol
