First off MG-42 you please post pics. Second I saw some on flying mule It looks like FOV put some good effort in this one, better than the ambulance. I think it is reasonably priced as well.

* Not bad , i guess , better than the 1st. "Deuce & a 1/2 " . ... Light dust spray on the wheels & chassis , not over done like w/ mud and more dust. Nice undercarriage detail. Seems a bit small though , like 1/35 . I know it's not a very big truck to begin w/ but this thing just looks like its out of scale for some reason. Odd . Overall , I am pleased w/ this offering and I think it's worth getting + for the pri¢e. I see another version of it in the future , if not by this time next year , just like they did w/ the 2nd. series "Deuce" .

I put my WC together today. The only problem was the canvas top for the back is unpainted....it is black. It was easily solved by paining it with some US khaki paint. The seat cushions should be the same color but I was too lazy to paint them! It is a really nice vehicle and a worthy addition to my collection...

At the request of Mitch here I did some calculations and I determined the WC-63 is 1/8" too small in both length and width.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at mine but it doesn't seem too badly out of proportion when sat next to some jeeps. The real truck isn't all that big compared to the GMC cargo truck. I think I can live with 1/8" - I'll just keep it a little towrds the back of any scene.

These Dodge 6X6s weren't meant for the cargo duties like the GMC CCKW's - they were light personnel vehicles for guns in the infantry regiments. In a standard infantry division in 1944 the Dodge trucks would be towing the 57mm AT guns in the regimental antitank company (9 guns/company) and in the battalion antitank platoon (3 guns/bn). So that's a total of 18 57mm antitank guns per infantry regiment or 54 per division. The 1.5 ton Dodges also towed the light 105mm howitzers (M3 type) in the regimental cannon company (6 guns/reg't). In fact the FoV model is marked as such. The bumper codes "79-315-1" = 79th Infantry Division, 315th Infantry Regiment - the "-1" should be "-I" (for Infantry), on the other side of the bumper the "CN" refers to the regimental cannon company. I have also seen a photo of one of these marked as a front line ambulance.

A number of the real vehicles still exist today with museums and collectors so a quick Google image search of "WC63" will reeturn a large number of photos.

I was planning on getting one and like you said Gary, using it to tow an Imer Reisley (SP?) 57mm AT I recently acquired. I would have to build it first of course, but figured they would make a good pairing.

That is also what I am thinking about. For a 1970's-vintage casting the old IR 57mm gun isn't too bad. It can use some cleanup and a lot of small details, but I think it will look fine with the truck.

I saw this truck today at the Toy Soldier show. I was surprised to see it available already. Tomorrow I think I'll pick up a couple. From what I could see there wasn't much weathering. I may have to do a little customizing.
