A-26 is to cool!

Post by mosquitomania » Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:43 pm

Hi guys,

I have been out of touch for some time, but today I got two of the Hobby Master 72nd scale A-26 Invader models. I got the two that are out now, and WOW these are great models. I really like the black paint scheme version, and who would have thought 72nd scale would have become this nice. Looking forward to the S3 version of this baby! Nice to be back on the board.

I have both these models as well and agree with your opinion :D Hobbymaster is giving Corgi a run for their money with the A-26, which represents their first forray into a true 1:72 scale WWII bomber. Quite a bit of detail on this plane, both inside and out.

I'm content with the first two versions for my collection. They give a nice ballance between the A-26B and C models as well as the WWII and Korean paintschemes.

Now if Hobby Master would just make a B-26 Marauder, that would be nice. :)

FOV has a B-26 in a couple different schemes. Its really a pretty decent tooling with good detail. However, had Hobby Master done it, the model would have been superior.

Are these your first HM models, mosquitomania?

They do make great models, and with the Beaufighter, and this A-26, starting to encroach on Corgi territory.

I passed on the first A-26 "Stinky" as I just didn't like the scheme. But this black Korean scheme does look good, and is on my list.

And agree with the B-26 Marauder. Really wish either Corgi or HM would do this aircraft, as it is the most important medium bomber not yet done in 1/72.[By a quality aircraft manufacturer. The FOV release has many qc issues}.
