Two Unusual Soviet Tank Models

The publisher, GE Fabbri, has launched a line of 1:72nd scale diecast tanks in Russia that includes some unusual Soviet armor items from the 1930s. These are the T-35, a 45-55 ton multi-turreted "heavy" and a somewhat smaller "medium", the T-28, which also features a number of turrets. The T-35 mounted a 76 mm canon and two 45mm guns but was very hard to maneuver and had relatively thin armor protection. Only 60-65 of these beasts were made and they came to grief in the western Ukraine during the German invasion in 1941-----most simply breaking down. The T-28s were far more numerous and saw action against Finland as well as the Germans, but without much success. They, too, were hard to handle and had fairly thin skins. I bought renditions of both of these tanks, which I've repainted and weathered. Here's a picture:Image

These where available with a magazine in the UK. I never saw it in shops though so missed this series.

Your repaints looks fantastic Epap. I'd love to see Dragon do a T-35, that would be impressive!

Thanks, WC. I've been getting these and other Fabbri models from eBay seller, 6286sergey who is offering both models right now. The item number for the T-28 is 120729482593 if you are interested.

The series is still going in the UK (DeAgostini "Combat Tank Collection"), but does not include either one of these tanks.
