My Japanese Diecast Bomber Collection
With the arrival of a 1:120th scale diecast rendition of the Frances the Hachette Collections Japan has now given me a replica of all seven of the major WWII Japanese bombers. Here's a picture of the complete set:

Re: My Japanese Diecast Bomber Collection
Nice collection! Did the Japanese have any four-engine bombers?

Re: My Japanese Diecast Bomber Collection
Thanks, guys. Yes, the Japanese developed two four engined bombers. One was a failed attempt in 1939-40 to copy our DC-4, which resulted in the G5N Shinzan. This was aborted. In 1943- 1944, the Japanese developed the G8N1 Renzan, which was much more capable. It could carry a load of 8000 pounds of bombs to a range of 4,600 miles at a maximum speed of 370 miles per hour and had six canons plus four machine guns for defense. Fortunately the Japanese started too late on this bomber and I believe that only 5-6 were made. The Allied code name for this bird was "Rita" and we tested one of them after the war, finding it a "good" aircraft.

H, They are very nice model. May I knopw which brand of them?
Re: My Japanese Diecast Bomber Collection
These models are from the Hachette Collections Japan series----a publisher subscription package that includes fighters, trainers, float planes, dive bombers, torpedo bombers, etc. in scales ranging from 1:87th up to 1:144th. All told 60 models are offered, together with booklets, via Japanese book stores, but there is some redundancy with several schemes included for many of the fighters and attack planes. I'm told that they are available on the Japanese version of eBay. Otherwise, they are very hard to find.wlgooood wrote:H, They are very nice model. May I knopw which brand of them?
