Falcon models to release a Fieseler Storch

new tool from falcon models and FI156 fieseler storch erwin rommel N.africa in 1/72 should be a good one. we had great success with the T-33A and the
F-9f panther i would think the storch should do even better

I agree and just pre ordered one. Barring difficulties with the undercarriage, this should be a big winner. It should be noted that the Storch is quite a large bird, with a wingspan of almost 47 feet so it's not as tiny as some may think.

The release of a STORCH would be fantastic is one of my favourite aircrafts and i am missing it in my collection

The Storch is one of those iconic and significant support aircraft in WW2 that is essential to any aviation collection

Would love to have one but due to my meager budget would really have to carefully consider, especially with HM churning babies out left right & centre and other exciting and promising releases (Draken! Viggen! 2 F-4B molds, etc) from new and old players

I have still yet to pull the trigger on the 1st T33, hopefully get it soon before I snooze and loze

so what are the opinions on the Falcon Storch? Worth the money? Is the undercarriage suitable for in flight display?

The canopy framing is very heavy, and overscale.

I understand it has to robust enough to be strong, but really detracts from the model.

Never did pull the trigger, but they do have lots of schemes for the Storch.

For some reason, the over-sized front framework reminds me of the Planes film characters; looks more like goggles.

Of course, a toy would come with different markings. It could buddy up with Rowsdower's Corsair. Their storyline is that they are two planes thrown together after fighting in the last great war on opposing sides - although neither fought against the other as one was stationed in the Pacific the entire war and the other in North Afrika until captured by the British. Now they must forget the past and join forces against a common foe in Disney's next cash grab.

thanks for the info, Snake. Yet another Falcon model that disappoints. Every Witty and Falcon model i have looked at i've passed on. They both need to seriously get their acts together. $20 Oxfords are better models.

I purchased the "Rommel" Storch from a local hobby store - then noticed the framework on the windows. I've not taken it out of the box yet and this thread actually just reminded me I had it

Falcon models are hit and miss with me. I really like their F9F Panther (though I know it has some issues) but I recently purchased an F-11 and was terribly disappointed...

Although Falcon do some relatively obscure aircraft, and am thankful that they do, they are hit and miss, as tman said. You should definitely do some simple research before buying one. Not slamming the company, far from it, but they are certainly a second tier manufacturer, for now. If they could only improve a little bit, it would really improve their product.

Witty are not bad, and have been offering gear up options the last few years, which is a big improvement, IMO. But their "bread and butter" models like the F-16, and F-18, have been done by HM, and are superior. They still have the F-15, Su 27, but these are not perfect, with nose/ canopy shape issues, and see HM doing these in the near future too.
