Don't know if this is old news or not but the corgi mosquito is out. Saw a pic of it at BCA. Comes with extras like ground crew, bomb, stand etc. I think it's an excellent value at the $117 it's listed for. Looks like a beauty.

I'm drooling!! I love the Mosquito and now its in 1:32 scale with a bunch of accessories! I wonder if the cockpit door opens? $117.00, however, is alot to justify at the moment, even if it is Corgi.

well...if you think it's huge in 1/32 just wait until a 1/18 Mosquito comes out. Which i know will happen..

You'll probably get to buy it in pieces, and assemble it at the hanger..

Corgi 1:32 Mosquito

Hi,
I'm staring at the size of the Corgi 1:32 scale Mosquito and I shudder to think what a 1:18 scale replica would look like. I still think its kind of ironic that they made a diecast replica of a wooden plane. In any event, the inaugural Mosquito is quite breathtaking and even comes with ground crew, a bomb trolley and a cookie bomb for added impact! It's quite the item if you're looking to have the ultimate in diecast aircraft...

Incidentally, Franklin Mint/ Armour Collection just informed us that they will be announcing their 2005 lineup at the end of November and the catalogues should be ready to go in December.

Heck man, that mosquito's just the size of an XD Me-109. You want to see a big plane check out the xd stuka or lightning....or F-18 for that matter.

Those are big! :D

Blue Box F-18

Hi,
Yeah, I remember seeing the Blue Box F/A-18 at last year's Toy Fair. They had it set up on a stylized aircraft carrier for dramatic effect and a load of their other over-sized aircraft nearby. Man, was that sucker big! The price seemed right too. Only trouble is, we don't do plastic...at least not yet.

So what weight fishing line do you recommend for hanging the Mossy?
Very nice looking bird. Only thing I would have liked is maybe a gun-nose with panel access. Or maybe interchangable noses. Now that would be sweet

i'm sure you'll see a gun nose variant in time. As it would be the more popular of the two, they would release it second.

Upgunned Variants of Mosquito

Hi,
I agree with AFerguson. Typically, companies will release the basic stripped down version of a replica first then sweeten the pot by offering more elaborate variants down the road.

We also spoke to Corgi awhile back. While there aren't many newly tooled planes in their first half 2005 product portfolio, they did say that they had quite a number of new aircraft types lined up for the second half.

Should be fun!

Oh my Gosh  That's amazing!!! It certainly dwarfs the Liberator. Nice job on the ground crew/equipment.

That is awesome! Now I really wish I could just throw approximately $120 + shipping for that thing!
