That's odd. The Type 97 is a medium ----by early WWII standards----not a tankette.

Yea! Me too, but knowing Dragons past record in keeping promises I wouldn't get to overexcited. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised than bitterly disappointed.
Although I have a high hopes, I feel obliged to add sour note: I don't believe that they will manage to do even half of this catalog this year.
Cheers

yes japanese designations can be confusing, they're much like american designations in that regard where 'm3' or 'm4' can refer to many different types of items like tanks, guns, grenades, artillery etc. The descripive name after the designation is critical to knowing what is being referred to.
In this case the type 97 light car/tankette. It was fully tracked, so i don't know where the description of 'car' comes from but it was not the same vehicle as the more familiar type 97 chi ha....and a very surprising choice for dragon to make, given its small size and relative obscurity.
It was just 12 feet long, much shorter than most modern mid-size cars, which are around 15 feet long.

yes we will be carrying all the dragon releases. the 1st is the 222 due next month we have ordered 2 cases but they are selling fast.
dragon does have a bad track record with actually getting stuff done. i did speak with them last week and they are hoping to change that for the better this year. im keeping an open mind but believe it once pre orders are emailed to us

I just spotted this picture of a page in the Dragon catalog which indicates to me that the Type 97 tank, mentioned above, is, indeed, going to be the medium, not the tankette. Needless to say, this is very good news----to me, at least.

yes the pic is of the Chi-Ha.....which makes a lot more sense. The Ha-Go is a nice choice, i wonder if they'll actually make it.
