Small Scale Military Headquarters

While doing some research on the sdkfz 232 I came across this:

According to this website, revell-monogram is re-releasing the old monogram 1/32 sdkfz 232 panzerspahwagen sometime the first half of this year. I'm going to look into it a but and see what other kits may be on the way!

Unfortunately that's it for WWII 1/32 armor, but saying as I had about 3-4 different customs in mind using these things I am so glad I don't have to hunt them down on ebay and pay premium $ any more! I guess this discovery makes me feel a little better about the fact that FOV is leaving us empty handed as far as armor this year. Now let's just hope REvell-Monogram re-releases their jagdpanzer IV(V) L/70!

Yeah, the ones I have I usualy bought in large groups for about that same price per kit. Lately though it's been getting rediculous. For example:

Whoever "wins" that auction is going to pay about $40 a kit once you factor in shipping, and that's if it were to sell right now. There is still a day left...

The poor guy that buys them is gonna facepalm so hard once he sees that revell monogram is re-releasing them for $20 a pop.

WOW! I hope they do more old Renwal mabe a M47

Good to see some 1/32 scale models from Revell/Monogram this year. Now if they just Re-Release the 1/32 M-8 Greyhound or the M-20 Greyhound.
I seen one on e-bay when for over $25.00+ shipping today. Wow
I did the M-20 last winter but still need a M-8. Is the older jeep and gun and halftrack 1/32 or 1/35???

Spoke to one of the employees at my local hobby shop. He said they should be arriving sometime next week!

Any idea if they did any work on the molds, or will these be just like the originals?

My guess is they did not.

Probably not. So what that means for this particular model is a poorly fitting upper and lower hull, especially in the back, but I can live with that as i have had to "fix" a few already. I just can't wait to crank out some more variants of the 8-rad armored cars. I'm thinking a 263 is next, after I finish the 233 that is.

As to the earlier question about the Jeep and gun - they are closer to 1/35th and very poor kits.

Monogram went through some "schizophrenia" back in the 70's. In the late 50's into early 1960's Monogram released a series of vehicles and figures that were (ironically) very close to 1/35th scale. These included an M48A2 medium tank, an early M35 2 1/2 ton truck, a jeep with 37mm AT gun, two halftracks 18-figure infantry set and an M29C Weasel. In the early-to-mid 1970's Monogram started a series of 1/32nd scale armor, with the PzIv series, the M3 Lee and Grant, M4 and M4A1, the M8, M20 and 8-wheel armored car. Based on the sales of these kits, Monogram re-labeled all their old kits as being "1/32" when they really weren't. That has caused confusion to this day. The whole thing died out as Tamiya became the dominant force in the armor kit market and 1/35th won the "scale battle".

As to the other kits that Revell COULD produce, they acquired the old molds from Renwal, which were pretty close to 1/32nd, but were mostly pretty mediocre kits even by 1960s standards. Renwal did produce some interesting subjects such as the M47 and M41 tanks, the M65 280mm "Atomic Cannon", an Ontos, a hawk missle carrier, the "Mace" missle on transporter and a decent M62 wrecker truck (also briefly marketed in civillian markings to go with 1/32 slot cars)
