Hello all: I was wondering if anyone can add to this list? From what I can gather there were only 14 different 1/48 scale aircraft/paint shemes that were made before 21st Century ceased. Here's the list I have. I have the first 12 so I know they exist, the 13th I had seen for sale and the last one's picture was on the back of one of the box's I have.
Ki-61 Tony (Green)
Ki-61 Tony (Bare Metal with green camo)
P-40N
P-40E
Hellcat (Catmouth)
Hellcat (White 17)
P-51C (Shangrila)
P-51C (Princess)
P-51B (Bald Eagle)
P-51B (Bee)
Bf-109G-10 (Green 4)
Bf-109G-10 (White 11)
Bf-109K-4 (White 17)
Bf-109K-4 (Yellow 1)

I think you have the entire list, although I don't recall seeing Shangri-La ever made. I have all of the Hellcats, Tonys and the 4 109s.

I don't remember the Shangri La either?
I have the Aleutians P-40E and the Silver Tony.
The only other one I really wanted was the P-40N.

Made me go to the stash pile to check Harry. They did indeed make the 1/48 Shangri-La.

Maybe the Shangri-La was a TRU exclusive like the 1/32. What a shame they had to go under. Their detail was getting more intricate and the graphics were really nice.

I agree, the paint detail on the 1/48 was better than some of the 1/32. I believe I found all of my 1/48 at Walmart

It seems that they mirrored a lot of the paint schemes. You could find some combination of 1/18, 1/32, 1/48, and 1/144 painted the same. Pretty smart. Why waste the reserach? For example the P-51 RidgeRunner was in 1/18, 1/32, and 1/144. A Zero had the same scheme in 1/32 and 1/144 and so on.

This was one reason that some of us speculated that we would soon see a Japanese Frank in either 1/48 or 1/32 since it appeared in 1/144. Also speculation about some of the upcoming paint schemes based on 1/144 releases.

A Frank would have been awesome in a larger scale.
I fully expected to see the P-40 E / N, and the Tony in 1:32.

What was interesting to me was that they just didn't slap a different canopy on the P-40E and call it an N. They went to the trouble of making a new mold for the N's longer fuselage.
