What's with 32x aircraft prices?

Virtually all of these (of any model) I saw on the shelves had serious QC problems, but recently I've noticed current prices are unbelievable. $50, $80, over $100 for something that was less than $20 at the store, and those with serious QC issues. What's going on? Am I missing something??

They don't make them any more and no one is stepping up to the plate and filling the void with any new prebuilt 1/32 aircraft.

When these were on the shelves at less than $20, glued-marked canopies and upside-down stabilizers and all, I would NEVER have thought they'd be worth more than a few dollars.

Yup, supply and demand. As the supply steadily decreases this situation will only become more acute, and in 6 months or a year who knows, the average price could be $80+...

Even the last remaining low priced Zeros and Me-109's are climbing in price lately.

The 32X S1 "Saidor" Corsair recently went for $102.

The 32X Corsair vs Zero Dogfight set recently went for $180.

I attended a military show this weekend and one of the vendors had 21st Century 1/32 planes and he was selling them for $35. Last time I saw this same vendor they were going for $20. Not quite as high as 'evil bay' but definitely heading upwards.

Those are decent prices depending on the models. Wish we had more air or military shows around here, with stuff to buy to boot.

Managed to score a P-47 "Angie" the other day for around $22 + 10 shipping on ebay so it's not all bad. Now just gotta get a "Snortin' Bull" and I'm caught up on the 32X Thunderbolts.

I was watching a 32X Pearl Harbor Zero, and it went north of $50... whodathunk for a Zero?...so the prices are all over the place.

All the Corsairs (single plane packs) seem to be inching up there near $100 lately.

I managed to get a couple of Corsairs the last month or so. My first ones. Got them for $50-$60, so considered myself pretty lucky.

As Dauntless and ostketten have said, it really is supply and demand. As Corgi do a far superior diecast metal model, with a quality stand, I can't see the 21 C Spitfire, Me 109, and P-51's going for much more than they are right now. But the P-47's, Zero's, Corsairs ,FW 190's etc may continue to climb in price.

32X Flying Tiger P-40B for $100. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 500wt_1156

Yup it's silly season again folks, time to break out them airplanes if you got some to spare.

Now tell me AllGo couldn't make some money off a 1:32 P-40E or N?

Prices on 32X are approaching - or above - 1/18 XD. I would never have thought that would happen.

That is crazy.

You can get a fabulous diecast metal GMP P-40 for about the same price. No comparison.

Yeah, those are friggin' sweet!
I should at least sell one of my extra 1:18 P-40B's and get that Aleutians P-40E, even though it's slightly smaller than 1:32, it's got so many neat features and detail. It would be a stand alone model in 1:35 though, but cool nonetheless.

Hey maybe one of the rumored 1:32 AllGo planes planes from a reliable source is a P-40E? ....uhuh. :?

They are among the best diecast ever made, Dauntless. 8)

And done as limited edition. Not being made anymore, so getting rarer as well.

Although 1/35, close enough to 1/32, and the sheer quality speaks for itself.

GMP "Aleutian Tigers".
