Hobby Master has me hooked.

Post by mosquitomania » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:59 pm

After reading all the good reviews of Hobby Master models, I purchased my first one today. I got the HA2106 French Air Force F-100, and now I am hooked. Love the paint scheme on this bird, and the shark mouth looks cool on the Super Sabre. Would post a pic, but not sure how to do that. Maybe someone can post one for me. Now, what Hobby Master model to get next? Hmmmm, looks like a Skyraider is coming my way.

Hobby Master are rapidly becoming the number one company for diecast collectors. Even diehard Corgi fans are starting to acknowledge this.

Their quality is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Great selection, and they do a number of different schemes for their models. From various countries as well, so something for everybody.

Mosquitomania has a typical response. Get your first, and you are very impressed with the level of detail, and quality. Need to get another one of these models.

Glad to see some of the forum members here getting HM. You simply can't go wrong with them.

Plus they are expanding into 1/48, and their new 1/72 releases are fantastic.Skyraider, F-111, F-102, F-101, F-106, and lots of new F-4 versions. It is getting hard to keep up with all their new releases, as they are coming fast and furious.

Here is your French F-100, mosquitomania. :D From Hobbymastercollector site.

Thank you snake for posting the picture. Yes that is the model I got, and I really like it. I could not decide between getting a Skyraider or F-4 next, so I got both coming in Friday!

Good call, mosquitomania. You will really like them both.

Here is the awesome F-111. This will be a big seller for HM.

Two sets of landing gear.Either gear down like the picture.

Or gear up, on the stand. 8)

Looking at the picture of the French F-100 model, what are those white pods on the last pylon at the end of the wing next to the large fuel tank?

I think those might be either napalm or rocket pods? Anyway I can't say enough good things about Hobby Master: my first model was a Mig-21...afterwards I got hooked, and there goes a good chunk of my income. Which Skyraider did you get by the way? I just recenlt got my 1st one: the first release of the mig-killing Skyraider (with the big wasp on the tail :) ) Sooooo cool!

Looks to be a familiar list, Gouchy.

Replace the Spits and Beaufighter, with another couple of Phantoms[ VF-31 Tomcatters, and Alabama ANG] and that is what I have incoming.

There is so much great stuff coming from HM before Christmas, and something for everybody. "Resistance is futile"

And I just got all the latest CW releases[ about 11 models], so it is going to be an expensive last third of the year.

And HM is releasing the F-101 Voodoo, and F-106 in the near future.More "must have" releases.

HM is just blowing away the competition with their quality, price and selection. The only complaint I am hearing is so many fantastic releases in such a short time. How are you supposed to keep up. But it is a good complaint to have.

Have there been any pictures released of the upcoming F-101 model?

Good choices for you too Snake :D

Actually I intend to only get one F-111 for now

I was also tempted by the Tomcatters and Alabama Phantoms but I can't afford to get them all,

Figured I'd prefer a Tomcatters scheme on a CW F-14 instead and not quite sure whether I liked the sharkteeth on the Alabama so decided to give it a miss

I'm still not fully convinced that I like the V tail elevators of the Malta Beaufighter, would've prefered a normal straight tail.
May have to see the plane in the flesh to decide whether to bring it home.
I'm shallow in that sense, not much of a rivet counter or history aspect but high on the asthetics

I'm not getting any of the recent CW releases, prices are very high and not really any scheme that is screaming "buy me", though the French Crusader is close.
Don't think my mini protest at the price by not buying is doing much good anyway .. LoL
