I am looking at getting a Hobby Master 72nd scale F-105 Thunderchief. How about the Old Crow II, Bud Anderson's plane? That one looks great.

One of my favorites. Hobby Master captures the massive size of the F-105 well, and you would really like this model.

Agreed. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the schemes HM offers for the Thud. I have the natural metal finish "Operation Look Alike" version, and I like it a lot.

I gotta admit, before HM came out with its F-105, I never really liked the plane. But after seeing pics of the first three releases, and doing more research on the aircraft (and its amazing accomplishments), I made the jump: got me the MBII livery. OH BOY was I impressed!!! What a sleek beast of a plane! Next to my CW Tomcats, the Thud puts up some serious competition. Gotta love the SEA camo, and the nose art on the plane. MBII is now hard to find, but I would recommend it! I'm also looking at the Look-Alike scheme...mmm quite like the bomb load on that one. Two thumbs up for Hobby Master's F-105!

Have to agree with the previous comments. The F-105 was not going to win any beauty contests, but was an important aircraft during Vietnam. And it helps to fill out the "Century series" of jets.

I picked up both Old CrowII, and Memphis BelleII when they were released, and was very impressed with both of them. The plane is surprisingly large, and has typical HM quality. The only downside to the F-105 is that the fuselage centerline bomb rack cannot be used if the model is displayed in flight. :( I like to display my aircraft in flight, so this kinds of "neuters" the plane IMO.

If I had to go for only one F-105, I would go with Old CrowII, just because of the pilot. The Mule has OC in stock.

Hm is also releasing another F-105 in Euro 1 camo.

At just under $53 it's a great deal too because the shipping is free.

Yes it is a great deal at Aikens, that is where I got mine. I really like dealing with them.

I'll vouch for the quality of the HM F-105 - at least what I've seen through the box. My Hobbytown USA store has a few in Old Crow II and MBII livery for $51. I was looking at them yesterday while trying to decide on a Hobbymaster splurge purchase - and went with another plane - but will go back soon and get one of the F-105s

Just when you think Hobby Master can't get any better, they release this model. This thing is beautiful! Mine came in yesterday, and they really knocked it out of the ball park with the F-105 model. Hobby Master must be the standard in 72nd scale airplane models now. This one is special. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I will concour 8) I got the "Old Crow II" F-105 from my local Hobbytown USA store as well as the F-4 Phantom in Col. Olds "Scat XXVII" livery. Both are fantastic. Hobby Master is indeed setting the bar in terms of variety, quality, detail, functionality, and affordability in 1:72 scale!
