McCluskey Dauntless paint

I just noticed today that in the center of the star national insignia you can see where they painted over the red meatball. This is not a complaint, I think it is how the would have appeared after being painted over following the Coral Sea.
One question though. On mine, the antenna on the engine cowling leans inward toward the centerline of the AC. Is that correct?

if it was mine i would bend it strait up

Hi Zzzippper...yes that is exactly what the USN did with all Coral Sea aircraft...paint over the red meatball. HM did a very good job capturing it.
As for the antenna mast, yes it should not lean to center…I sanded a wee bit of the antenna base side and with a bit of CA, glued it in the slot with a little of the L base out and not pushed in all the way. For good reference I use Rojas Bazan’s site…he has great pictures of the SBD he built and backed by outstanding research.
