Hello All,
Boy talk about keeping a secret. Dragon announced today that they're going to be selling a previously unannounced 1:72 Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) with members of the 29th Infantry Division at next week's Dragon Expo in Atlanta. We've posted the item on our web site and hope to have a better image shortly.
Also available at the Dragon Expo Show will be the Maus (#60154), Sturmtiger with Zimmerit (60113), M1025 Humvee Armament Carrier (60050), F/A-18F Hornet (50064) and a bunch of other stuff for everyone's interest.
Here's the link to the LCM:

Enjoy!

Secret is right....but thanks as always for keeping us posted Lightning.
I must say that the Higgins boat would be among my top 3 on any 1:18 scale wishlist. Maybe even moreso in 1:32

Huh, I swear I saw that on their USA website quite awhile ago...not sure but I think that was the unassembled kit product. Is this a pre-built version?

Hi Digger,
I think the Higgins boat is pretty cool too. Dont know yet if it'll come with the same diorama base that's included with their model kit. I'm also hoping that other craft are not too far befind including a LVCP, Amtank, Amtrac, etc. Maybe one day we'll even see at LST!

Hot Dog! That looks great! So $39.99 is the MSRP? That doesn't sound so bad when you consider the detail and the squad of soldiers that is included.

So is the landing craft with figures all painted and built, or is it just the plastic kit version that needs built and painted?
I just noticed that Cyber Hobby will be at the Dragon Expo. Any news on what they might have with them?
I'm really looking forward to the Dragon Expo. It should be alot of fun.

Hi Tshintl,
I can only assume that everything is pre-built and pre-painted if its part of the Dragon Armor line. We're still hoping to get an image from Dragon showing off its features and packaging rather than using the images from the plastic kit version. Still, I think its an exciting change of pace from all the Jagdtigers, Ferdinands and Sturmtigers that have been hyped of late.

This is from the description for 60205 on the Dragon USA site.
"Dragon Armor
This line features static pre-assembled, pre-painted models made of both diecast and plastic. Each item is fully detailed and historically accurate."

Hi All,
Dragon posted an image of the LCM on their web site and listed the price of the item at $29.95, so we're lowering the price as well. Based on the image posted, it looks exactly like the plastic kit version, although there may be a couple less soldiers (looks like nine in total). Still for $29.95, I think its a great item.
They also inferred from their description that other LCM are in the works. My guess is that some will feature Commonwealth soldiers (a la Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches during D-Day) and Marines for the South/Central Pacific. Probably the Big Red One too for the Med...
