If so, could you please do a quick list of plusses and minuses?

Thanks!

TINMAN:

I have the Franklin Mint F-117 with the sharkmouth nose art on it. If I remember correctly, I paid around $45 for it new on ebay.
The big negatives I have with the F-117 is the problem I have with all FM models---fixed landing gear and no pilot. Also, the F-117 has the bomb bay doors open with bomb displayed---I prefer the "in-flight" mode on my models.
However, the F-117 is a fairly good looking model because it's relatively big in 1/48 scale and looks impressive because of its unique stealth shape and black paint. Any lack of detail, common on FM models, is hidden by the black paint and stealth jets don't have lots of surface detail anyway.
If the F-117 came with a pilot, retracted landing gear and a closed bomb bay, I would really love this model a lot. But it's still pretty cool looking any way---and no one else makes a decent F-117.

I would like to add one more item.

Before you order the plane, please check SKU. I bought Franklin Mint Stealth fighter from a vendor who was having a fire sale with no return. The vendor had SKU with a picture of a black Stealth fighter showing. When I received the plane, it was grey, not black. Apparently SKU was correct, but a wrong product picture. Grey just doesn’t look right.

TPARKHERE:

Sorry to hear about the wrong color. Have you considered repainting it black and adding your own decals?

Thanks Dragon,

I wish I had time and patience. First, I have to locate the plane. It’s in the garage somewhere in one of numerous boxes.

Great pictures. I really like my FM F-117. I am a big fan of Franklin Mint jets, and I think my favorite is my MIG-29 model.

LA817291:

Two questions about your display cases:

1. Are your display cases designed specifically for models or are they general display cases?
2. Also, how much did the cases cost?
