<b>The Collector's Showcase Kickstarts the Panzer IV</b><br>
Slowly but steadily, <b>The Collector's Showcase</b> has cultivated a strong following amongst both the toy soldier and armor enthusiast crowds, offering unparralleled realism, detail and authenticity at an affordable price. Earlier today, this prolific manufacturer made good on their promise of vaulting to the next level by announcing their intent to reproduce the workhorse of the Wehrmacht -- the vaunted Panzer Mk. IV medium tank. Based upon an Ausf. G version with schurzen side armor skirts and a turret girdle, this all-new release will come in several paint schemes and be made available in both a zimmerit and non-zimmerit version. According to the promotional literature, each replica comes complete with a thrown track option, a casualty figure, rear stowage ( helmet and crates ), two crew figures, a destroyed idle wheel, cupola-mounted machine gun, open and closing hatches and removable shurzen side plates. Booster figure packs will be offered as well, which will include two riders and two figures disembarking from the vehicle. We are currently awaiting full pricing and shipping information, but for now thought you might like to see what they have in the works....

That looks pretty cool. How do you feel they compare with K&C. Also, do you think they will add more Allies' equipment?

The Collectors Showcase armor compares quite favorably with the K&C sets. In fact, they're developed in the same 1:30 scale and are designed to be interchangeable with their products. Reviews have been very favorable. Of course, it would be nice to have operational tracks, but I dont know if this is even possible given their composition. They usually make no more than 300-400 pieces of a style, so they're apt to retain their value once they're off the market.

In the past, we've done quite well with their armor/vehicles. According to TCS, more armored pieces are to be expected later this year...

I have a little over 200 K & C sets and just about everything in WW2 that the Collector's Showcase has put out.
Here's my view...for realism/poses/sculpting, I'd give the nod to Showcase. I don't think any company can match their vehicles.
But K & C has a distinctive style that is mesmerizing. Of course, there many years in the hobby has forged a line with unparalleled scope.
Indeed, the hobby has room for both.
Then there's Figarti...largely hit or miss. But their armor is terrific. Now if they could just improve their figure sculpting on a more consistent basis! (Their Bloody Tarawa line is really nice.)
