Hachette Japanese Warbird Models

As some may be aware, Hachette Collections Japan has been offering a new line of Japanese warbirds diecasts, via Japanese bookstores since last fall. All told, 60 models----including multiple schemes for most planes---are planned and 20 have, so far, been released. Their scales range from 1:87th for fighters to 1:100th for planes like the Kate and Judy and 1:120th for the larger types. I have been collecting these and, so far, they are infinitely better than previous mass-produced lines we have seen in scales under 1:72nd from IXO, Atlas, Italeri and Model Power. They are nicely detailed, have crew figures and are well painted---the only negative being that the Hachette models are available only in the "wheels up" mode. Has anyone else acquired any of these small but excellent models?

No Hachette for me.

I just received the latest Hachette model---a Mitsubishi F1M2 or "Pete" to the Allies---and it's a neat little replica with a wingspan of five inches. Here's a picture:[img][/img]
