GMP Diorama base

Based on some discussions and a recommendation from one of our members (thanks Jack..) 8) I picked up one of these GMP resin diorama bases. I got it primarily for the included accessories like the bomb carts, work stands & ground crew, and the dio base was just an added bonus. Being 1/35 the figures are a tad smallish, but part of the problem is that the 32X Jug is just a BIG airplane, and I think this will be less of an issue with a smaller plane like the P-51 or P-40. Anyhow, I'm quite pleased with it overall, and it would have cost me as much or more to buy kits of the bomb carts, workstands, and figures, and then I'd still have to assemble & paint them. Looks good ostketten. 8)

The 1/35 scale is just a little smaller than the 1/35.It shouldn't really be too noticeable.

The GMP 1/35 scale dioramas were made for the GMP aircraft. They only did the P-40,and P-51.

I agree that the P-47 is a BIG aircraft.so it will take up some more room on the diorama base.

Hopefully the "scale purists" won't be freaking out about this.

Scott, I can't believe you mixed 1/32 and 1/35! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! Don't you have any pride! I'm just kidding of course. Like snake said, it looks great and I think the "scale purists" will let it slide.
I always wanted to get one of these bases but never pulled the trigger. That is a cool little dio. Great job and no mess or clean up.

Thanks guys. 8) I do try to keep to scale and historical accuracy as best I can, but I don't obsess over it either. Bill, if you ever do decide to pull the trigger on one of these, I think you'd be very happy with it.

Thanks Ostketten. The display case is the Detolf from Ikea ($59.99).

Unfortunately the dio base doesn't fit all the way in the case. It's about an inch and a half too long and the door to the case closes about 75%.

One I've had my eye on that would fit but is 3 times more expensive is the Aspvik also from Ikea.
