Getting the FOV 1/72 tanks out of the packaging

There was a post not too long ago about the packaging on the Forces of Valor 1/72 tanks being tricky to get open (assuming you didn't want to ruin the box). Below are quick instructions on how to get the tank out without ruining the box.

On the back of the box at the very bottom (below the pictures of other 1/72 FOV tanks), you will see two pieces of tape connecting the back of the box with the bottom of the box. Peal back both pieces of tape.

You will then be able to pull the back packaging away from the bottom of the box. Only the back bottom of the box will pull away, the top of the back piece will stay connected to the overall package.

Once you achieve this, you can lift the back of the box away from the rest of the package to reveal an inner box that the tank is attached to. This will slide out of the larger package.

At this point, you will notice the tank is attached to the inner box by twist ties from underneath. Undo the twist ties and lift the tank off the inner box. All that's left are two small screws that you can undo to take off the black plastic piece mounted to the bottom of the tank, which the twist ties are connected to.

At this point you are done, and the packaging will all still be in perfect shape should you ever want to put the tank back in.

Duely noted! BTW, My 1:72 FOV M1 Abrams seems to be missing the commander's hatch and its not in the box. Should one have come with the tank, or were they left off? Thanks!

Yes it should have, it probably fell off. Before taking the Sherman out of the packaging, I checked to make sure everything looked in order (and the hatch doors were in place at that time).

However, after taking the Sherman out of the package I realize that one side of the hatch door was missing. I searched and found it on the floor. I was rather irritated as it took me about 20 minutes to get it back in, and that was after shaving down the area it slides into to make it fit back in.

I think the way the open hatch doors are attached to the tank is very poor.

Email FOV Unimax and tell them your problem, see what they do or say.

I'll do just that. If they are open to comments and it's a real person that would respond, then I'm all for it.

Well, I emailed them asking about when their first release was coming out and asked why they chose the vehicles and planes that they did? I received a reply in less than 24 along with a survey they wanted me to fill out. It contained what I would consider significant questions that showed a genuine interest in my opinion.
I later emailed them about this forum and The Model Hangar being great places to read what the collectors of their product actually thought and wanted. They took it as an opportunity to improve their products and hopefully produce more items that the collector really wants, not just what other companies think we want.
They asked that I tell everyone to email them with whatever it is that interests them, bothers, suggestions for improvements, future releases. Anything that the collector wants to share with them is what they want us to tell them. We can't just sit here and complain or wish for things, we have to take an active role and actually take 5 minutes to email them. If we don't they won't take us seriously. It is no good if only a handful of us email, it has to be a consorted effort if we want them to take us seriously as enthusiastic collectors. If we don't get involved then we shouldn't open our mouths and complain about anything they do or don't do.
It's like an election, if you don't take the time to vote then you shouldn't complain about what does or doesn't get done. If you do vote then you have all the right in the world to speak up, good or bad. So write Candy or please be quiet.
candydong@unimax.com.hk it only takes a couple of minutes and it is for your own benefit. Make sure you include the forum address so they know where everyone is from.

I'm sorry, but you don't even know me so don't try and tell me to do this or that.

If there is a person that actually responds from FOV without giving a pre-written response than that is great and I look forward to seeing what they have to say. However regardless of this, it still doesn't make a change on how their products are now (whether good or bad).

People are going to have good and bad things to say about their products. Contacting them about this might help with the way their products are next year, but doesn't do anything for the way they are now, and how they are now is what most people are concerned with. They could respond with a 10 page paper but that doesn't change what is currently available in the stores and how someone will comment on or view their existing products.

You can say what you want, but people are going to comment on their existing products and have every right to (regardless of whether they choose to contact FOV). You might have a point if someone decides not to contact FOV directly and then complains next year on what they make and how they do it. But telling someone to contact FOV or don't give an opinion or review is simply insane.
