Hobby Master does it again! 1/72 Willy's Jeep

Post by AMERICAN_GRENADIER » Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:50 am

Hobby Master introduces the Willys MB Jeep – the first-ever in 1/72 scale die cast!

Replicating one of the transports dropped behind enemy lines during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, this iconic World War II U.S. Army jeep is a must have.

This is great news for 1/72 fans, thanks for posting this. 8) It must be no small challenge to produce the diminutive jeep with a decent amount of detail in this scale. Can't wait to see some pics.

Definitely not the first ever in 1/72 scale die cast, Hongwell/Cararama has had one on the market for about 10 years now, it's very good too. However, the HM jeep comes with a trailer which the Hongwell/Cararama jeep does not. More pictures at the link below...

While the jeep I am sure will be excellant and I will be tempted the money issue is becoming a real issue for me on these.

The hongwell jeep above I bought twenty of at £1 each and I can still get them for about £3. The problem for me is that the Hobbymaster one will retail for about £17.

I'm sure they're available somewhere, but I got about a dozen of them off Ebay a couple years ago for about $3 a piece.
