I went to the Hobby Show here in the Chicago area today. When I attended last there were quite a few of "our" representatives now there was really only one, FOV. Corgi was there but no 1/32, Minichamps was present but no 1/35 military, no NewRay, of course no 21st.... I did speak to the FOV representative. There are no future plans for modern armor. They just didn't sell. Their lesser lines now selling at Target and TRU will continue to offer modern but plastic vehicles. The rep said WWII German sells the best. The rep said FOV is working on an Opel truck. They're currently trying to get licensing from Opel. Nothing else in the works....

Holy Buzzkill...

Well crap. I guess I'm out then. That's pretty much what I was into this hobby for. Luckily I've got most everything I want, and I can keep customizing and modifying for a few years.

Sure did think a Leopard2-A6 would have looked good with my Abrams and Challenger II though...

I also stopped by the Pegasus booth and spoke to their rep. I was told in 2010 we can expect 1/32 WWII French soldiers. I welcome something different. I also inquired whether Pegasus will ever make 1/32 buildings. I was told Pegasus won't but they have a subsidiary that will probably sometime in 2010.

* New FoV for 2010 ?

A sign of the times perhaps, but I believe better times are ahead, and as collectors we are just going to have to be very patient, this is a GLOBAL condition that is not going to change overnight.

No offense, but I think I will pass on the surrender army figures.. :lol:

MG-42, it's funny you mention French armor. I told the FOV rep, French armor would definitely be something different......

Nope. They'd have rifles that were only dropped once......

All kidding aside, the last time anyone made WWII French was Marx decades ago..... I recently purcased WWI French and made some minimal changes to make them appear WWII.

Well, interesting to hear about the 1/32 French! That should be great, same with the 1/32nd buildings. One question, would these buildings be pre-painted fo you think?

* Free French ? ? ?

According to the rep, adult collectors prefer WWII german armor, while kids prefer the modern armor. The rep said that is why the Bravo Team is plastic (toy) and sold at Target and TRU. The "collector" wants diecast and the WWII armor and vehicles.

Lately I can't even find Bravo at Target or TRU... What's with that?
