King Tiger!!!!!!!

Post by rmoore456 » Wed May 25, 2005 9:54 am

Found the 21C 1/32 King Tiger and Jagdtiger today at Walmart in Normal, Illinois. They look pretty good. The King Tiger is in the ambush scheme and the Jagdtiger is the 3 tone camo.

I just read this post and I actually also found the Jagd and KT in my local Walmart today...here in Des Moines, Iowa. I picked up the Jagd. I was going to post a question asking for you 1/32 scale guys opinions on these, but it sounds like they aren't out in many WMs yet. I usually just collect 1/72 scale, but saw these and couldn't resist for $15.00...I might grab the KT later this week. The Jagd is impressive, I like the 3 tone camo, it also comes with an MG that, of course, mounts on the engine deck. Has anyone got the KT yet, if so, what do you think? I also saw an Me-109, 262 and P-40. They look pretty good...damn, here I thought I could just stay in my nice little 1/72 scale, and what do I do, but buy one and now I think I just might need more! :)

There's just so much in 1/32, I would:
A) Go broke :(
B) Lose what little space I have
C) Have to give up 1:18

All things I might be ready to endure, but it's just so hard to take that first step....I know there'll be no "I'll just get the occassional piece..."

With the long intervals before new 1/18th stuff, other scales such as 1/32 make it that much more enticing I think. :D

Go go for it Digger. The 1/32 scale items are nice, and you can compliment them with FOV stuff. There is enough to keep you busy for awhile-not to mention break the bank!

I'd been determined to stay pure with 1:18 only, but last week elected to open up my mind to some limited 1:32 pieces. Trying to pick up only those that I think are unlikely to ever be released in 1:18. And if they do come out at some point in 1:18, then so what - I've had the pleasure of owning them in 1:32, and I can always sell off anything I no longer care that much about.

Now my mind is set on the Jagdtiger. I say go for it! It's only toys (and yes, $ and shelf space. but life's too short!)

all this rhetoric. Reminds me of a bunch of heroine pushers. I'm surprised they haven't offered to buy your first 1/32 tank for you. "First hit free".

Jagdtiger

Post by EnemyAce » Fri May 27, 2005 3:23 pm

Scored the King & Jagd tigers in Iowa City. Best. 32x. Ever.

The jagd's hull is the same length as the Kings, but both are missing some of the fender extension pieces as is often seen in photos. The King's ambush matches that of the Panther, while the Jagd's 3-tone cammo looks like something done for the Dragon Armor line. Excellent stuff.

I was wondering if 21st would get the hull right on the Jagd.. Sounds like they didn't.. Oh well, it will still be a nice piece..

If curious.. The Germans extended the lower hull on the Jagdtiger to accomodate the bigger gun.. The result was an exterior hull that looks like the King Tiger, but there is a gap between the last road wheel and the rear idler..

Here's some pics I found of the boxed vehicles from an ebay listing for the King Tiger and Jagdtiger:

They look like some pretty nice pieces. There also seems to be a new commander figure and it looks like a second crew figure was included as well (in the right corneron both boxes.) I'm especially jazzed by that King Tiger and will have to get one as soon as I can! Now, the get 21c to make some more WWII Allied armor...
